UAE Royal sheikh Brutally Torturing, this post is instate of NPR radio post

Post 15;
In Arabic Sheikh mean a leader, a Muslim Skeikh that practice Islam and justice more than other people in the community. Islam is about peace and love that raised from Saudi Ariba and all Arbs are proud of that. When a non Muslim punish poor people brutally, they called them Kafer (non- Muslim) who don’t know about peace and love who doesn’t have any fair from God therefore, do cruelty and brutally behavior with poor people.

What one should say when the Arab Sheikh’s do such as brutal action? Those Arab sheikhs that 24 hours says Allah. I think money and business made this people completely crazy, more than a wild animal that they enjoy torturing and punishing people.
In this YouTube clip see how Sheikh Issa from the loyal family UAE is torturing his business partner that is an immigrant Afghan, only for paranoid cheating. And the UEA police department and judicial affairs turned the story because Sheikh Issa is from royal family.

Episode of Hannity and Colmes on the Fox Channel

Post 14;

I watched the episode of Hannity on April 25, 2009.
Hannity’s first segment was about how Barrack Obama is hurting and endangering America by releasing photos showing harsh interrogation techniques conducted by the CIA. He kept using the phrase, “hurting America,” so I do not think he likes the President much. Hannity also reiterated that Obama is doing harm to the nation because the report he is releasing gives the away the CIA members’ addresses. He touched on Obama’s tour in Europe, where Hannity claims Obama kept calling America arrogant. He did not like that Obama bowed to the Saudi prince, for “hugging” the Castro brothers.

He brought on a guest, former Republican candidate, Huckabee to talk more about this issue. Huckabee agreed with Hannity that Obama is hurting America. He defended waterboarding as a technique that helped intelligence officers gain some information.
Huckabee also agreed with Hannity that Obama is releasing the photos for “for political reasons” specifically to make Bush look bad.
Hannity said the democrats, like Nancy Pelosi the White House Speaker, lied to the American people because at first she denied knowing about water boarding and then she said even if she didn’t know. Hannity brought on two columnists to talk about the allegations that waterboarding constitutes torture. They of course, agreed with Hannity that waterboarding is not torture. I think a good solution to decide whether waterboarding is torture or not is to pick a volunteer to go waterboarding and then ask him if he is suffering. If so, then it is torture.

Hannity also said Biden’s approval rating (51%) is lower than Cheney’s (58%) during the first hundred days. Hannity also claimed that Obama did not keep his promise for helping out this one lady who asked him to help her financially. HE said Obama wasted so many gallons of gas while traveling on his private jet.
Hannity also talked about Perez Hilton’s attack on Miss California. He thought she was brave for speaking her mind about gay marriage.
This show is very biased and Hannity is very opinionated. He basically feeds the guests the answer he wants to hear. I do not think this show is fair and balanced as Fox News Channel claims it is.

Reading one blog...

post 13;

When I read this article, Why We Need the New York Times, by Alec Baldwin, I did not know he was a celebrity. He is a famous actor, and is currently on the show 30 Rock on NBC. The article was an argument why America needs the New York Times. Baldwin says that he rarely watches the evening news and prefers reading the paper.

In the beginning of his article, he writes about how he as a child used to buy and read the New York Times, and everyone in the city carried the paper. Now, stacks of the newspaper are still waiting to be sold. Baldwin writes about how he learned about the “poor documentation of the deaths of deportation detainees by various state and federal agencies.” He says he didn’t see any news network reporting that at all .Baldwin makes good points why the Times are a good paper and that it should never become extinct.

However, the article did not use sophisticated language, but the way the author wrote grabbed my attention. Also, I don’t think the writer Alec Baldwin did much research to be writing an informative piece. That is why, he has to write a post based on a couple of facts, but mostly his views.
I was browsing the Huffington Post Blog and I noticed that a lot of the articles are very short and did not require extensive research. Some articles are informative, but many others are just about celebrities, some are just photos, some are just videos. I do not think that one needs to be a professional journalist with credentials to write on Huffington Post.

The Environmental Blog

The latest post dated Saturday April 4, 2009 is titled “Organic Community Gardens” is about the importance of growing community gardens. The writer of the post explained the benefit of community gardens, especially in Oregon, where this activity is very popular. It is also enjoyable for those people who do not have a backyard of their own to grow plants and flowers. Community gardens have two benefits: (1) it is a good stress reliever and fun activity and (2) the land is used to help the environment.

Community gardening is beneficial to every community, but especially in urban communities since cars and mass transit contribute to pollution and destruction of nature. The writer offers solutions to utilize unused plots of land: to convert the into gardens too.

I agree with the writer that growing community gardens is very important and beneficial to the community. However, if a local town does not have a community garden, it may require considerable time before the town actually gets the permission and funds to grow one. Still, the task can be accomplished if neighbors cooperate with local authorities to grow a garden. Also, I think in addition to a garden, the local community could grow fruits and vegetables. This would not only be a fun activity, but the fruits and vegetables may sell well in the local community.

The other post is about “green” events happening in Oregon, namely the Saturday Market. The Oregon Saturday Market is filled with “local culture, hand-made crafts, and farmers.” Purchasing food locally is good for the local economy since buying food that doesn’t require transportation from far “helps prevent air emissions.” Air pollution caused by cars, trucks, ships, and airplanes can be curbed by supporting local farmers. The author also advises people to use re-usable bags when they go to shop at the market.
The writer of the blog does not seem like a professional writer because the writing is very casual. It seems like the writer is talking rather than writing a professional piece.

Society and life circumstance makes people like Charles Manson

post 13 with Youtube Clipe

Charles Manson in his book talks about murders in American and his own childhood period. He talks how harshly he suffered and observed the abuse in his own family. Manson probably is one of a few people in the world with tromandsly different life exceprince than us. He was beaten many times by many people who were older than him and he grew up in the extremely violent situation. He was kept for from education and he could not read and write until he was twenty, he spent most of his youth fighting, straggling and at the sometime surviving.

Manson’s life experience affected him very negatively and he himself turned to abuse others. This is because he grew up in a life without love and peace, therefore, for him this was of life was common. Society from the beginning tells us how we should act by placing gender roles up on as, the act that Manson did pleased his uncle, this was his initiation on to his boy-hood in his uncles eyes. From a very young age Manson was treated with the worse type of treatyment possible, this effect is the cause for the reason that he became the person he was. If Manson was treated differently I believe that he would have turned out a very different person. Society made him who he was; there was not a time in his life where he could say that he was truly happy. Every time something good happened to him, the entire feeling was shot down by an even worse problem that took place in this life.

A person is truly shaped by his life, Manson is the perfect example. At all the time he was trying to prove himself to society and civilization, there was not time where he could just be himself because he wanted to be . There were things that he enjoyed doing, but refrained because he had an image to keep up with in the face of society. If a person knows nothing better than the very thing he sees, hears, and dose every day then he will never know that what he is doing is wrong, he will not understand why the scolded is happening.

New Law in Afghanistan

Posted by Kayla, and my reaction on it
Power and politics made president Karzia completely lost. He even doesn’t remembers his promises he made during his 7 years rule such as –
- article 22 of the Afghan constitution that give men and women equal rights
- CEDAW the international convention on elimination of all kinds of discrimination against women that he signed in 2001
- Declaration of the Essential Rights of Afghan women, signed by president Karzai in 2002 that gives women and men equality, freedom of speech and political participation as well as the right to wear or not wear the burqa or scarf
- MDGS the Minimum Development Goals, President Karzia agreed to pursue 9 major goals of MDGs and the Beijing platform for Action and many more …..

This shows that President Karzia has forgotten about above mentioned contracts he signed, or that all this things doesn’t mean anything to him he is only looking way to stay in power.

He proves how symbolic strategies not only for women, but for all country, the time for him is over and I hope Afghan people especially women got a better understanding of whom to vote.

http://www.rawa.org/events/mar8-2008_e.htm

Afghan women are one of the important topics today for media and the world become aware of the elements that suffers them. After the collapse of the Taliban regime in Afghanistan, many nongovernmental organizations around the world have been trying raise awareness. Especially after the US- led war in Afghanistan, women activist found opportunity to go to that country to work and let Afghan women to speak for them and decide for their future.

Despite many cultural and religious challenges, meaningful strides have been made in past few years. Much organization focused on Women’s lives in Afghanistan while Afghan women suffer even more immigrants to other countries. it is very important and urgent need to create a greater awareness and understanding of the lives of Afghan women as immigrant in US and other parts of the world. They are facing many challenges as they struggle to adapting the new society, for example, one of these challenges could be adapting to the freedoms and equal rights that other women have. Afghan women, who lived in a completely different part of the world in an ignorance and silence life, would be absolutely lost coming to the United States.

Most of these women cannot read and write their native language. New language, new environment, and culture shock cause them to lose balance in life. They then lose their ways and lose completely the little self-esteem they had before. Organizations such as RAWA and Women for Afghan Women are needed to help these women change and adapt into the new culture, as well as keeping their own values and culture. Finding jobs and becoming financially secure is another problem these women would struggle with, because in order to settle in a country, women has to be able to finds ways and not be depending upon family and society where they even do not know the language.
