We watched this 93 minutes movies in the class, this black and white film made me confuse at the beginning and I didn’t even know what this film is about. The only thing I understood was that this is a TV channel the staffs are trying to do their jobs, but all of them are very rushing and walking around the studio. Additionally they were smoking too much even the Edward I believe the director and broadcaster was smoking before news, but he look very serious , well spoken and preformed very professionally what I liked the most was he said “Good night and Good luck” at the end of each news.
After sometimes I got that this film is about a congressman man who is complaining anti communist and the newsman Edward with his news attempting to show this congressman’s apposing communist people.
This film showed that journalist also don’t have an essay job, it is very difficult from them to deal with politicians and bring up the realities. As Edward was trying to so, his all co-works was worried that he will be accuses to communism too. This is very important from journalist not to get a side with powerful politicians and do their job as honestly as they can. Also to give the people the real new with proves and let people interprets it

Girls for Sale;
A Website of a traditional Paper;
I have been readying this article on Opinion session of New York Times, and this story was about an 18 years old girl sold to prostitute for $10 in Columbia. This was very sad article for me; I thought only women in Afghanistan suffer from un-just laws, un-equality and poverty. Reading this article made me to realize women in another part of the world has even more tougher life.
As the report points out, in 21st –century still we have slaves and that is even worse than old slavery system. This poor teenager loses their childhood freedom only for amount of $150 get abuse and dies from AIDS before their 20’s. The most shocking part of this story is that this girl named Srey Neith who has been interviewed by this reporter, was sold by her female cousin. And she is scared of farther punishment if she tries to escape, because the policy department is actively involved in this business. Therefore, a girl such as Srey Neith sees no way to escape from this life.
Women in third world suffers from all this things and are sold only $150 for life, while in developing countries women spent millions of dollars for their makeup and cloths. This feminist and women actives are also busier with issues that third world women even does not have clue of. They need to have a agenda that works globally from all of the women in all part of the word.
Women needs to gain foredoom from poverty, violence and discrimination. They need to be given the coreges to makes a vice, and fight for their rights in proper ways. Feminism activist are the only source who can provide support to those women. Therefore the feminism job is not done yet; the above mentioning problems are the concerns for today’s feminism movement. Women in the 3th world still surfer extremely they need support of advanced feminist groups. In some points feminist groups now have more tasks and responsibility then before. They need to help women world widely to gin the some rights and freedom in their life.
Women are also human being; they deserve the respect that every human being naturally deserves. They play very important role in the society by contributing to the family wellbeing that evenly is community wellbeing as well. Women’s right around the world is an important indicator of global well being; they are not issues only for their won countries, religion and laws. Women’s all over the world need to be united and get to gather to finds way to improve situation of other women who life in

Local News Show
Tuesday April 7th
The News on World News was very different from the Daily Show. It was more informative and unlike the Daily Show, it had more news stories. The only news stories there were the same were of Obama’s surprise visit to Iraq.
Jon Stewart spoke very little Obama’s trip to Iraq. He was mostly making jokes, saying one soldier wanted to jump on the airplane with Obama to go back to America. He talked about Obama’s European tour and also poking fun at Sean Hannity and others who were criticizing Obama’s speech.
Stewart thought that Obama’s speech was “fair and balanced.” Stewart also continued to make fun of those who say that Obama will order Americans to “surrender their freedom,” Obama will lead a “road to tyranny,” there will be “slow erosion of our liberties.” Stewart had on a guest, Jehan Sedat, the former first lady of Egypt to discuss her book My Hope for Peace. She talked about her husband’s dream of putting an end to bloodshed in the region.
World News tonight began with Obama’s surprise trip to Iraq. Charles Gibson gave more information about the trip: that Obama arrived at Baghdad International Airport at 4:42 pm and was in Iraq for less than 5 hours on the ground. Obama’s airplane was deterred by a dust storm. IN Iraq, Obama met with soldiers and met with Iraqi President Jalal Talabani and the Prime Minister Al Maliki. Obama pushed for continued reconciliation between Shia and Sunni. He also promised a complete withdrawal of troops by 2011. George Stephanopoulos, Washington’s chief correspondent talked about the positive and negatives of Obama’s trip.
The next story was about the new Puma car that GM and Segaway made. Next, the story was about Ted Kennedy, ¬¬¬¬¬¬¬the Democratic Senator from Massachusetts who pitched at Fenway Park. Next, the story was about mortgage scam that is on Washington’s list after terrorism. The FBI raided real estate scammers who were part of a scene costing banks hundreds of thousands of dollars.

America's Top Model
I watched America's Top Model. Episode 6 April 2, 2009
I think the show has its positive and negative points. One, I think the photo shoots the models do and the different tasks in the competition are very interesting and beautiful. But at the same time, America’s next top model portrays a negative socialization of girls.
The following example will illustrate my point. The show began with a recap of last week’s episode and I have to mention it because it is relevant to today’s show. The judges in the last episode already decided that Kortnie, one of the girls was going to go home. Then, Celia, a girl who was already safe in the competition walked on the runway next to the eliminated girl and told the judges and Tyra that Thalia, a girl who was also safe in the competition “expressed that she did not want to be in the competition any longer.” Maybe Celia wanted the judges to change their minds and eliminate Thalia instead of Kornie. But I don’t think it was right of her to say that. That was a recap.
In the episode that I watched, which was a follow up showed how the girls were divided between those who supported Celia and those who thought she was a backstabber. The girls started yelling and saying bad words to each other. One of the girls, Sandra, politely expressed that she did not think it was Celia’s business to interfere with the judging process. Celia’s friends quickly defended Celia and were making fun of Sandra. Over the next few days, Celia and her friends backbit behind Sandra’s back, but Sandra overheard them talking about her. Later on, Sandra was crying.
I felt very uncomfortable watching the show because it is very gossipy and shows girls in a negative way. The models on the show just wanted to win the competition and did not care about the other girls. The girls talk about the other girls behind their backs. All of them have to comment on everybody. I think the models are not good examples to younger girls who may be watching the show. The producers should not focus the show so much on what the girls say about each other. They should focus on the competition.

A Young Marine’s Dream Job

post 18;
First page of New York Times,
5/1/09
In this story they talk about how American soldiers get killed in some valley in Afghanistan. They young and un-experience American solider going to the war in Afghanistan, but their only dream is to go to the college in the future.
It also pints out about president Obama’s strategy to train Afghan military to become self-sufficient so that they can to fight against Taliban and Al-Qaeda. It says “The war in Afghanistan defies generalization, each province, each valley and each village can be its own universe, presenting its own problems and demanding its own solutions”.
The military is an authorized group of people who use force, including weapons to defend a country. It is also used to protect a country’s border from attacks and to provide a secure environment where the people may live in peace and pursue a happy life. A strong military is an important and essential pillar for a strong and independent nation. There are eight countries in the world with powerful military forces that dominate the world economy and population. Those countries are the United States, China, Japan, Germany, France, India, Britain and Russia.
Training of the Afghan military force is an important issue and stabilizing long-term plan for the United State. They should try to build a new unified Afghan National Army, which they consider more the security of the country and the re-emerge of the Taliban and terrorist groups. In this cause the Afghan military and police forces would ultimately take over the U.S. and other international military force’s role. They would provide a reasonably stable environment so that the Taliban and Al-Qaeda do not return, so that Taliban do not seize power in the government, or spread terror again. Therefore, it is very important that the Afghan Army grow and become stronger.
